SUMMARY

In this presentation Mr. McCall walked participants through a student project that gave his studens opportunity to discover the events of the Texas Revolution and contribute key information in the form of a WIKI, PODCAST, and Music Video.

Mr. McCall also used this forum to introduce the DESK model for structured learning in the 21st Century. The Discover, Evaluation, Synthesis, and contribution of Knowledge process is discussed.

Discover how a middle school TIP history department infused technology to create rich learning environments for students and the community with open source learning management (LMS) tools. Learn to manage digital assignments and leverage the power of Moodle, a system designed to engage all levels of learners. Explore how students at SFA Middle School in Bryan use Moodle to complete assignments, share, and collaborate. Participants will receive a teacher account to a course for exploring Moodle.
